After a busy winter period Crowders Nurseries have taken advantage of some major investment, installing a new Keeder Polytunnel. Within this we have installed an Urbinati lander seeding machine that can sow over 25,000 cells per day, to fell the Keeder Polytunnel with over 500,000 cells.
Following 2 years of trials we are officially launching cells to all our customers. We have over 500,000 UK sourced and grown cells in production this year in a range of hedging and tree species.
Cell-grown trees are becoming an increasingly significant part of our young tree range, driven by strong demand from customers who recognise their advantages. Unlike the winter bare-root stock we produce at our nursery in Woodhall Spa, cells offer better reliability, easier planting and a longer planting season as they develop stronger, more resilient root systems, making them a highly valued option for successful establishment.
If cells are of interest or you have an upcoming planting project, please get in touch with our sales team and arrange a tour of our 330-acres site that had operated in Lincolnshire for over 228 years.
